By popular request..a chat page, accessable from all three sites (two mirrors). Please don't abuse this. If any of you can use cgi - in particular the ralfchat program please contact me, I desperately want a proper server-side chat prog...much more configurable. How To Use

Leada and DeputyLeada may not always be here, but we will try. We both use ICQ, so if a good way to get hold of us is via this. Email us to get our UIN numbers.

How To Use:

This chat program accepts almost all IRC commands, and requires the same access privileges before they can be used, so if your not an Operator then you can't boot anybody. Not everybody can be an Op, hey it's shitty, but seriously, what do you expect. BTW, a chat room is called a channel.

User Commands:

To Quit: Do not just change page please, type "/quit reason" (without quotes, the reason is optional)

To Give an action: "/ME message" Tells the current channel or query about what you are doing. e.g. "*TCG_Incharge* thinks hard"

To Private message type: "/MSG nickname message" Send a private message to this user without opening a query window.

To Private Message someone in a seperate window: "/QUERY nickname message"

To Get Info on someone: "/WHOIS nickname" Shows information about someone.

To change your Nickname: "/NICK nickname" Changes your nickname to a new nickname.

To be Away: "/AWAY [away message]" Leave a message explaining that you are not currently paying attention to IRC. Whenever someone sends you a MSG or does a WHOIS on you, they automatically see whatever message you set. Using AWAY with no parameters marks you as no longer being away. example: /away off to get something to eat, back in a moment!

Operator Commands:

To Kick somebody out: "/KICK #tcgclan nickname" Kicks named user out.

The MODE command: In the form of "/mode #channel|nickname +|-modechars [parameters]"

Channel Modes

l <number> limits number of people that can access channel
m channel is moderated, (only Op's can talk, users must be given +v to talk)
o <nickname> Makes person Operator i.e. "/mode #tcgclan +o nickname"

User Modes

v: Gives user a voice in a moderated room.

Examples:

"/mode #tcgclan +l 20" Set's max user to 20
"/mode #tcgclan -l" Takes off max user settings
"/mode #tcgclan +m" Moderates the channel
"/mode nickname +v" Allow someone to talk in a moderated channel
"/mode #tcgclan +o nickname" Op's somebody
"/mode #tcgclan -o nickname" De-Op's somebody
